Paint the Shore is plein air event and art exhibit designed to bring conservation to the public through visual art. Paint the Shore welcomes artists to conserved land, highlighting both the art of plein air painting and the unique natural environment on the Eastern Shore of Virginia. Artists will have the opportunity to capture and share a sense of place and a brief moment in a changing landscape.
The exhibit is October 11th and 12th and opens with a reception Friday, October 11th from 6-8 p.m. Artists and VES Land Trust staff will be present to talk more about the paintings, the plein air process, conservation, and the land. While enjoying wine and light refreshments, attendees will also have a chance to vote for their favorite artist with the People’s Choice Award.
Tickets for the reception are $15 for one and $25 for two at the door. All paintings will be available for sale with 35% of proceeds benefiting VES Land Trust and their conservation mission.
Want to have a little fun while making a big difference in our community? Volunteer for Clean the Bay Day on June 1, 2019 at Savage Neck Dunes. Spend the morning with us picking up litter and debris. You'll make the Bay a safer place to live, work, and play.
Save the date for the 12th Annual Oyster Roast Dinner. Indulge on oysters, clams, dinner, local wine, and dessert while enjoying beautiful views at Ingleside, a VES Land Trust held conservation easement on Occohannock Creek. Proceeds benefit the Virginia Eastern Shore Land Trust and its land preservation mission on the Eastern Shore.
