Bank of America Private Bank joins the Virginia Eastern Shore Land Trust in presenting Andrew Tanner and Larry Malecky in an educational seminar uniquely designed for sophisticated landowners.

Andrew Tanner is Managing Director, Specialty Asset Management Investment Consultant and author of the white paper Gifting Done Well. During this session he’ll expand on the themes outlined in his white paper with smart approaches to gifting family assets and highlight the capabilities of Bank of America’s Specialty Asset Management team and their in-depth expertise, serving as trustee and managing complex real estate and specialty assets, including timber, farmland and investment real estate.

Larry Malecky, Senior Vice President, Wealth Strategies Advisor, will discuss how Bank of America Private Bank works with families and their advisors to explore ownership structures, gifting strategies, and wealth transfer approaches designed to preserve family assets while supporting long-term legacy and succession planning objectives.

This session will be helpful, enlightening content for landowners who want to know more about the complexities of managing real estate as an asset, as well as possible approaches to passing family property on to the next generation in the most beneficial ways.

Speakers:

Andrew Tanner is a Managing Director of Bank of America’s Specialty Asset Management team. In this role, Andrew focuses on advising clients with material specialty asset wealth and business owners as they consider wealth planning and transfer. He also serves as fiduciary expert in the oversight of specialty assets in fiduciary settings, speaks at industry gatherings and provides continuing education to firms engaged in wealth planning and business succession. At Bank of America, Andrew led the management of closely-held assets held in trusts & estates from 2004 – 2025 and real estate from 2012-2021. Prior to joining Bank of America, Andrew served as Director of Specialty Assets and Fiduciary Investments for First National of Nebraska and as a regional manager covering closely held assets and ESOPs for a large regional bank in the Midwest. Andrew earned his B.B.A in Management from Tiffin University, and a M.B.A. from The Ohio State University. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®) designation as well as earning the Certified Exit Planning Advisor (CEPA®) designation in 2017.

Lawrence T. Malecky, CFP® is a Senior Vice President and Wealth Strategies Advisor at Bank of America Private Bank, where he focuses on developing and implementing comprehensive strategies to assist clients with complex financial needs such as preservation, transfer and management of wealth by accessing the bank’s broad range of wealth management, investment, fiduciary and banking services. He provides wealth management services in the areas of financial planning, estate planning, insurance, risk management, and philanthropy to help clients reach their goals and objectives. He coordinates with each client’s team of advisors and conducts periodic reviews to help clients monitor progress. Prior to joining Bank of America Private Bank, Larry worked at several international and regional CPA firms in Pittsburgh and Richmond where he provided personal income and fiduciary taxation, estate planning, charitable planning and financial planning. Larry Malecky is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in Virginia and is a member of the Richmond Estate Planning Council. Larry earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from West Virginia University.
